This 2.5-inch hard drive tray caddy is designed for compatible Dell 14th Generation PowerEdge R640 rack servers. It provides a secure mounting solution for compatible 2.5-inch SAS or SATA HDDs and SSDs installed in the server's front hot-swap drive bays.
Ideal for replacing a missing or damaged drive carrier or adding drives to an R640 with empty bays, this caddy allows compatible 2.5-inch storage devices to be properly positioned and secured inside the server chassis.
Designed for Dell PowerEdge R640
The tray is designed for the 2.5-inch drive bays used by compatible configurations of the Dell PowerEdge R640 1U server. It is suitable for server repair, storage expansion, refurbishment and replacement applications.
Supports 2.5-Inch SAS & SATA Drives
The carrier can physically accommodate compatible 2.5-inch SAS or SATA HDDs and SSDs. The actual drive interface supported by the server depends on the R640 backplane, PERC/HBA controller and cabling configuration.
Hot-Swap Drive Carrier Design
The tray is designed for Dell's front hot-swap drive-bay system, allowing a properly installed drive to be inserted and removed from a compatible R640 drive bay without opening the server chassis.
