This GPON OLT C++++ optical transceiver module is designed for use on the OLT side of Gigabit Passive Optical Networks (GPON). The supplied image identifies the module as GPON-OLT-C++++ and shows a single-fiber SC optical interface.
GPON OLT modules in this class provide asymmetric bidirectional communication over a single-mode fiber, using approximately 2.488Gbps transmit / 1.244Gbps receive, with the OLT transmitting at 1490nm and receiving upstream traffic at 1310nm.

The module uses wavelength-division operation to transmit and receive over the same single-mode fiber. On the OLT side, downstream data is transmitted at 1490nm, while upstream optical signals from ONUs/ONTs are received at 1310nm.
The module is intended for compatible GPON Optical Line Terminal (OLT) equipment and can be used for FTTH, FTTB, ISP broadband access and passive optical network deployments.
GPON OLT SFP modules are not ordinary Ethernet SFP transceivers. The host OLT must support the required GPON OLT optical module, electrical interface, firmware and optical power class.
