Huawei EPFD 16-Port EPON OLT Service Board

The Huawei EPFD is a high-density 16-port EPON OLT service/interface board designed for compatible Huawei SmartAX optical access platforms. It works with EPON ONUs/ONTs to provide fiber broadband access services in FTTH, FTTB and other PON network deployments.

Common board versions include H802EPFD and H803EPFD. The EPFD provides 16 EPON interfaces using pluggable SFP optical modules and is commonly deployed in Huawei MA5680T, MA5683T and MA5608T OLT systems.

16-Port High-Density EPON Access

The EPFD provides 16 EPON PON ports on a single service board. Each PON interface can serve multiple ONUs through a passive optical distribution network, making the board suitable for high-density fiber-access deployments.

EPON SFP Optical Interfaces

The board uses pluggable SFP optical modules. Depending on the network design and installed optics, compatible EPON modules can include PX20-class variants.

Optical transceivers should be selected according to the required optical budget, transmission distance, splitter configuration and ONU compatibility.

Important Compatibility Information

The EPFD is an EPON board. It should not be confused with Huawei's similarly named GPFD, which is a 16-port GPON service board.
