The Huawei GPON OLT Class C+ optical transceiver is a high-performance PON module designed for compatible Huawei GPON Optical Line Terminal (OLT) equipment. It provides the optical interface between a GPON OLT service board and the passive optical distribution network (ODN), making it suitable for FTTH, FTTB, ISP, telecom, and enterprise fiber-access deployments.
The module complies with GPON Class C+ optical-budget requirements and is designed for reliable transmission across passive optical networks containing fiber, connectors, splices, and optical splitters.
Designed for standard GPON operation, the OLT transmits downstream data at approximately 2.488Gbps and receives upstream traffic at approximately 1.244Gbps, providing the asymmetric bandwidth used by GPON access networks.
The module operates bidirectionally over a single strand of single-mode optical fiber. The OLT transmits downstream GPON signals at 1490nm and receives upstream ONU/ONT signals at 1310nm.
GPON Class C+ is designed around an optical path-loss budget of approximately 32dB. Compared with lower optical classes, this provides additional optical margin for demanding ODN designs involving longer fiber routes or higher splitter losses.
Huawei GPON OLT optical modules commonly use an SC/UPC connector for connection to the optical distribution network. A single optical interface carries both upstream and downstream signals using wavelength-division multiplexing.
Class C+ optical modules are used with compatible Huawei GPON service boards installed in OLT platforms such as the MA5600T, MA5603T, MA5608T and MA5800 families. Actual compatibility depends on the optical module part number, service-board type, hardware revision, and OLT software version.
Class C+ and Class C++ are not the same optical specification. Class C++ provides a higher optical budget than Class C+ and is intended for more demanding ODN conditions. When replacing an existing module, the required optical class should be selected according to the OLT service board, ONT/ONU equipment, network design, and optical-loss budget.
