The Intel Xeon Platinum 8180 is a flagship-class first-generation Intel Xeon Scalable server processor designed for demanding enterprise computing, virtualization, databases, cloud infrastructure, high-performance computing and data-center applications.
Featuring 28 physical cores and 56 threads, a 2.50GHz base frequency, up to 3.80GHz maximum Turbo frequency and 38.5MB L3 cache, the Xeon Platinum 8180 combines a high core count with strong operating frequencies for intensive multi-threaded server workloads.
The Xeon Platinum 8180 provides 28 physical CPU cores with Intel Hyper-Threading Technology, enabling up to 56 simultaneous processing threads. This makes it highly suitable for virtualization hosts, database systems, cloud services and compute-intensive enterprise applications.
The processor operates at a 2.50GHz base frequency and can reach up to 3.80GHz maximum Turbo frequency using Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 when operating conditions permit.
A large 38.5MB L3 cache helps provide efficient data access across the processor's 28 cores, supporting demanding enterprise and data-center workloads.
The Xeon Platinum 8180 supports DDR4-2666 ECC server memory and provides a six-channel memory architecture. Intel specifies a maximum memory capacity of 768GB per processor for the standard Xeon Platinum 8180, dependent on memory type and platform configuration.
