Renesas/Intersil HIN232CB is a dual-driver, dual-receiver RS-232 transceiver IC operating from a single +5V supply. It integrates an onboard charge pump, supports RS-232/V.28 communication up to 120kbps, accepts TTL/CMOS logic inputs and comes in a 16-pin SOIC surface-mount package. Ideal for industrial serial interfaces, instrumentation, computers, peripherals and equipment repair.
Final pricing may vary by configuration, quantity, delivery and project requirements.
The HIN232CB is a +5V-powered RS-232 transmitter/receiver interface IC originally from Intersil and now supported under Renesas. It provides two RS-232 transmitters and two RS-232 receivers, making it suitable for converting TTL/CMOS logic-level serial signals to standard RS-232 voltage levels and vice versa.
The device operates from a single +5V supply and incorporates an onboard charge-pump voltage converter that generates the positive and negative voltages required for RS-232 communication. This eliminates the need for external ±12V power rails.

The HIN232 integrates two transmit channels and two receive channels. This configuration is widely used for serial communication between microcontrollers, computers, industrial controllers, instrumentation and other equipment using RS-232 interfaces.
An integrated charge pump generates approximately +10V and -10V internal supplies from the single +5V input. This allows proper RS-232-level communication without requiring separate positive and negative external power supplies.
The transmitter inputs are compatible with TTL/CMOS logic signals, while the receiver section accepts RS-232 signals with an input range extending to approximately ±30V. Receiver hysteresis improves noise rejection in serial communication environments.
