Texas Instruments
Texas Instruments AMC1100 Precision Isolation Amplifier IC in an 8-pin SMD package, designed for isolated current-shunt sensing and high-voltage analog measurement. Features a nominal ±250mV differential input range and 8V/V gain. Suitable for VFDs, motor drives, inverters, UPS systems, power supplies, industrial automation and power-electronics PCB repair.
Final pricing may vary by configuration, quantity, delivery and project requirements.
The Texas Instruments AMC1100 is a precision isolation amplifier designed for isolated analog signal measurement in high-voltage power and industrial electronic systems.
It is particularly suitable for current-shunt sensing, where a small differential voltage generated across a shunt resistor must be accurately transferred across a galvanic isolation barrier to low-voltage control and measurement circuitry.
The AMC1100 is optimized for measuring small differential voltages, making it well suited for current-feedback circuits in inverters, motor drives, variable-frequency drives, UPS systems and other power-conversion equipment.
The device provides a nominal ±250mV linear differential input range. This allows the use of low-value current-sense resistors, helping minimize power dissipation while providing accurate current measurement.
The AMC1100 provides a nominal differential gain of approximately 8V/V, amplifying the small shunt measurement signal before providing it as an isolated differential analog output.
An integrated isolation barrier separates the high-voltage measurement side from the low-voltage output side. This is especially important in industrial power electronics where control circuitry must remain electrically isolated from high-voltage switching stages.

The AMC1100 is commonly found in power-control and current-feedback circuits. When replacing a failed device, verify the complete part number, package dimensions, PCB footprint, pin configuration, supply arrangement and circuit requirements.
An ordinary operational amplifier should not be substituted directly for the AMC1100 because the AMC1100 provides a dedicated galvanically isolated analog signal path.
